Getting Aussies talking about the Paralympics.
McDonald’s Australia solidified their commitment to inclusivity and empowerment through a 3-year partnership with Paralympics Australia and the Australian Paralympic Team just in time for the 2024 Paralympics in Paris.
With a history of providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities and supporting initiatives like Dylan Alcott’s Shift 20 Initiative, Macca’s wanted to use this partnership as an opportunity to celebrate this commitment.
Our insight
The Australian Paralympic Team ranks #1 for emotional connection among national teams (even over our Olympic team), but there’s still a large gap in games viewership and awareness.
With their sponsorship, Macca’s have an opportunity to leverage their loyal fan base and encourage the community to get behind our Paralympic team in the lead up to the 2024 Paris games.
Turning our Paralympian’s local Macca’s restaurants into their fan hubs.
How it comes to life
Golden Arches
We’ll deck out the Macca’s with green & gold decorations, and temporarily change “McDonald’s” under our golden arches to the name of the athlete with a banner.
We’ll discount the Paralympian’s go-to Macca’s order, and include packaging signed with their autograph.
Famous Orders
Special opening hours
Macca’s will be open for the Paralympian’s main event. Given they’re competing in a totally different time zone, Macca’s might be one of the only restaurants open!
We’ll encourage fans to write letters of support to their local Paralympian legend on custom tray liners.
